My formal training is as a musician. As a brass player I took a degree in Band Musicianship - a thoroughly enjoyable mixture of academic studies, composition, performance, conducting, recording techniques, and very much more. I went on to work as a peripatetic teacher, and later teach music (and everything else!) in primary and middle schools. Currently I have huge fun playing with the Glossop Ukulele Group, and from time to time I still compose. Here are a few videos for which I've written and performed the music.
